If Mohamed moved a mountain and held an international concert on top, Toronto music writers, probably wouldn't show up.

it would have a bar
it would be on a river

so people could come

and watch the bubbles
and play in the eddies
and wade
and float
away

a lot

people could
come
already drunk
leaving drunker
to make more love more
to their lovers, now and now and now again

a lot

and when men would fight
they could thrash about
chase their own resistance
push on
kick
and make splashes

a lot

we would all laugh

a lot

by the riverside
so much

youth, vanity, passion

and if someone went under
deep

over down

mother
can't lead without
a poet
lovers of a nation

boundless leaps of ripe imagination
selfish, unapologetic, arrogant
imagine, this, imagine that

our failures - alternatives

the cat came back
the very next day

our murdering sprees - violence, is a poverty too

hey diddle diddle
the cat and the fiddle
the cow jumped over the moon

mediation, compassion - don't choose
take it all

the wick and the candle break new ground
