Tina Gasperson, open-source news scribbler extrordinaire, published a story about linuxcaffe entitled "Latte and Linux in Toronto". Newsforge is THE Open Source online news site, and is brought to you by OSTG, the same folks who harbour ThinkGeek, Slashdot, Linux.com, SourceForge.net, and freshmeat.com.
They say that any press is good press, but I say Newsforge is very good press !

Digg is a technology news website that combines social bookmarking, blogging, RSS, and non-hierarchical editorial control. With digg, users submit stories for review, but rather than allow an editor to decide which stories go on the homepage, the users do. Yesterday a story about linuxcaffe was submitted to DIGG and today over 650 people "digg" us !

After roughly 12 years of work, the Wine Project is about to take its widely used Windows translation layer to a place it has not been in all that time: beta.

Wine Project leader Alexandre Julliard, who has worked on the software nearly since its beginning in 1993 and maintained it since 1994, said interview yesterday that the beta release is "a matter of days away." He has since updated that forecast and said it would be released on Tuesday, October 25th.
