New-to-ubuntu Workshop
A delightful dozen people showed up to find out more about their favorite new operating system. We learned a lot; the install, partitioning your drive, how to install and uninstall applications, and why you should always check to make sure your demo laptop works with the projector BEFORE the workshop ;-) Thanks to Dave Sullivan, for a solid presentation, and let's do this again regularly, OK ?
====================
Have you heard about the amazingly popular linux distribution called ubuntu ? Did you get a copy ? Did you install it and are you asking yourself "now what ?"
If you're new to ubuntu, or you just want to find out what all the fuss is about, join us on Saturday when Dave Sullivan of the ubuntu-ca user group will demonstrate and discuss features of interest to new users.
There is no charge for admission, but seating is limited to the first 16 people who sign up.
(you'll need to get a linuxcaffe ID and log-in, first)

Sign up ? How ?
I seems as though the "Sign up" function of our website (Drupal) is either not visible to some users, or just plain confusing, so, if you're planning to attend, simply email me (djp@linuxcaffe.ca) and we'll reserve a seat for the first 16 people If more than that should show up, our legal capacity is less-than 30 people, so there's standing room for another 10. If you figure out how to Log In, and sign up that way, that counts too, and you'll also be able to leave a comment on anything on this site.
whew !
Haven't computers made our lives so much easier, in so many ways ?
